"Not like that, Bailey. Just go into your state and try to get your wings started!" yelled Mrs. Lauget. She always yelled at me, she hated me ever since I came to Faerie Instatution. She probably thought that I was a waste of energy and patience. I tried again and then I couldn’t feel the ground. I didn’t dare look down, fearing that I would fall on my butt, again.
"Bailey you did it! Your flying!" yelled one of the others, Shelby Hiens no doubt. She was my bets friend here and I wouldn’t trust anyone else. I slightly opened my eyes and saw the grass four feet down. Flashing my eyes open, I tried to get them to move. I moved to the right and then the left.
"Yes!! I finally did it! I’ve been waiting so long!" I screamed into the air. Mrs. Lauget started to laugh and then motioned for me to come down. I completely let go of everything and then fell down on my stomach. It didn’t hurt, it was just really annoying. I stood up and brushed myself off, trying to get the mud stain out of my red t-shirt.
"Good job, Bailey. Tomorrow we’ll work on landing and projecting the works of fire into your hand" Mrs. Lauget told me and then stalked off into one of the corridors on campus. The castle was big enough to hold the whole kingdom if Princess Anastasia would let them. Princess Anastasia…. The royal pain in my butt and the ruler of Aregota. The perfetc person to rule Aregota would be Shelby. She was Anastasia’s sister and would do a much better job of protecting and ruling Aregota.
"I’m gonna go for a run. Do you want to come with me, Shelbs? I asked her. She shoock her head no and then ran to our room that was on the other side of campus. "Weird", I thought to myself.
I took off into the woods, not even caring to use my wings. I loved the wind in my hair and the smell of pine wipping against my cheeks. The pine and dog fur trees stood in front of me like 100 foot ogres ( yes they exist outside of Aregota). I stopped when I heard the strangest noise that I faerie could ever hear. Faeries could hear a lot of strange things. The cries of mermaids, The footsteps of a giant, and the flutters of another faeries wings.
I walked a little more into the forest and then turned south of the castle. I pushed aside a branch and saw a boy about my age standing in the middle of a clearing. He had black silk hair and brown chocolate eyes. His dark skin and muscles underneath made him look like a body-builder. I made a big mistake by taking one more step towards the boy. A twig snapped under my green ballet slipper and then everything smashed together.
The boy looked at me and then ran so fast all I could see was a blur. I quickly decided that I wanted to fly and then I flew up into the air. My wings started to flutter and then my outfit changed. "Great, whenever I fly, I change into a Anastasia", I thought to myself as the boy looked up at me and then had an annoyed look on his face.
"Who the hell are you?" he asked. Now I was annoyed.
"I’m the one should be asking questions since I was the one being attacked!" I screamed. He growled. "And how did you get out here? Only mystical creatures are allowed in Aregota!" I screamed again. I wanted to see if he would tell me anything that I didn’t already know.
"I am a mystical creature. Does the word werewolf come to mind" he asked in a smug tone. "If you come down, I swear I won’t hurt you" he told me again. I didn’t trust him btu for some reason I felt safer than usual.
I tried to come down slowly but then I fell on my back. It must of had a weird everytime-you-fail-you-land-on-a-body-part- sort of thing.
"Are you okay?" the boy asked me. I found myself looking into his dark brown eyes when he finally helped me up.
"Yeah, I’ve been doing that a lot today. So, why don’t you tell me your name" I said to him. He scoffed at me and then sighed.
"Cade Cooper. Newly trained Werewolf and regularly attending classes at Faerie Instatute. They have a werewolf program for kids like me. I’m 17. You?" he asked me. I didn’t know that they school had a werewolf program. But of course, no one ever told me anything.
"Bailey Jenderson. In-training faerie and living, attending, and possibly killing myself at F.I. I’m 16" I finished. He looked at me and smiled, probably at the whole killing myself thing. I looked at my watch. 9:15, curfue for faeries was 9:25. I was never going to make it back to F.I. in time.
"I’ve got to go. Duty calls me and if I don’t answer I’m going to be scheduled for laps" I started to turn away, but then I felt something hot on my hand. It was Cade.
"Let me take you. I’ have to go there for night classes anyway" he told me. Okay, I mouthed and then he ran off into the woods. Jerk, I thought and then a black wolf came into view. No Way. It motioned for me to get on it’s back. I hesitently got on and then we were off. The wind was on me like paper and glue. It only took about five minutes to see the castle but it took two minutes to try and fi
