Can something that is solar powered get wet?
I was given a cute little outdoor frog ornament that says welcome and it lights up at night; it is solar powered and I was told that it couldn’t get wet…true? thanks
Build a wind power generator and save money on your electric bills.

Do I have to buy a solar air conditioner to power it with solar power, or can I use my regular electric air conditioner? The solar a.c.s are crazy expensive, so I want to use what I have. Is that possible? And if so, how do I do it?
Okay…
please tell me the pros and cons of a solar powered car, or maybe some other useful information.
thank you.
Looking now into the issue of expansion of local power plant – A power company wanting to expand here in CT tells me that they do have a “solar powered station in Arlington, Arizona. The intensity of the sun in the Southwest allows solar energy to be a substantial part of an energy portfolio. Connecticut, with its more temperate climate, is less suited to solar energy,” but I want to find out if solar can become part of our urban skyline. Hope someone can refer me to someone who can help me in this search.
Perhaps some university, or a geek in a garage somewhere, will introduce something new? How long did it take for the "scientists" to accept the element Oxygen…
I am working on building a low cost solar powered electric wooden vehicle to carry only one person. I am having challenges in selecting the appropriate energy saving and efficient components. Please i need your advice in making choice of wheels, dc motor and solar panels.
How do I select the appropriate rating of dc motor to drive a total weight of 200kg and which rating of solar panel will be most appropriate? Do you consider super-capacitors a better option than batteries for my project?
We have forced oil which is not allowed by our loan we received on our new house which is 200 years old. The house is currently 1,300 square feet. Instead of switching to gas, we were interested in solar power. How to I begin the research on this and where to buy?
Also how $$ is doing something like this? We don’t know anyone with solar power so any comments or suggestions would be great.
IN NJ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can someone point me in the right direction to build a solar power system that can power my air conditioner for the summer? I live in a 700 square foot apartment. Any idea on the cost to build something like this? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!
How much would it cost to convert a house to solar power? Also, is it an effective means of power? I guess what I mean by this is would you have to change your lifestyle to use less power or could you still have washer, dryer, ac, fridge, computer, etc.
Okay, so I have this question.
You have a lightbulb connected to a solar panel. The lightbulb is powered until its night, if you put the already on lightbulb by the panel, will it power itself throughout the night?
We’ve heard CFL or other ways a light bulb can maximize its effeciency with least energy.
We’ve also heard solar panels improving on harnessing sun light.
BUT, are there products that directly harness solar power for the sole purpose of using the power for lighting?
(collect light during day, make light during night)
spam links will be reported.
flourescent materials? sounds fun, but how long do they last?
Hi. I have an idea that I would like to share with the world. A solar powered car about the size as a golf cart, but the protection of a car. It seems pretty cool, but how do I design it using software? I have a Mac, so only Mac friendly programs.
There is a home that costs 00us to build and I want to build one and they run on solar power and I want to find out more about it and the other systems the house uses. I’m tired of paying everything out in utilities and rent to own nothing. We live in north Georgia. The website for these homes is www.leenks.com/link60723.htm I would really appreciate feedback from anyone that has lived off the grid. We are also SCA
A follow-up to my last question about microwave generators.
If we had a solar powered device capable of producing radiation only in the UVB band, and it were directed straight up, would this cause the stratosphere to heat due to the higher concentration of ozone there?
And if so, then since the device is solar powered and is essentially ‘stealing’ energy from the sun that would have otherwise gone into warming the surface, it will have the effect of redistributing solar energy from the surface to the stratosphere.
So if enough of these devices are built on a large enough scale, would that "rebalance" the energy imbalance caused by global warming (where the upper atmosphere is cooling and lower atmosphere is warming) and eventually bring both tropospheric and stratospheric temperatures back to preindustrial levels, even without worrying about CO2?
Don’t worry about practicality, I am just wondering if the physics add up or if there’s some key piece I’m missing.
I saw a movie at school a while ago that said we could power the whole united states if we made a certain state all solar power (I can’t remember which state). Also how many watts does the united states use that way i can calculate how many solar panels would be needed.
Please tell me the amount of money solar power light bulbs cost and how much installlation will be.
