Where is the alternative fuel politicians speak of?

Just listened to a particular party politician saying, they will not allow drilling at home, clean coal fired power plants or nuclear but will use alternative energy sources? — Now, even if devekoped — 5 years — solar and wind power will provide only less than one percent of our needs.
What are these supposedly intelligent people talking about?

they are taking about the need to develop an alternative to
petroleum based energy. the five years that you speak of sounds good to me since it is estimated that it will take ten years to get a.n.w.a.r. up and running.
I would guess this was Fienstein of California, because I have heard her spout this nonsense before. The Dems just love to pay lip-service to their flock of sheep, but they do very little when it comes down to actions to wean us from our dependence on foreign oil. Voting against drilling in ANWAR or our off-shore reserves is just plain stupid.
There are alive and well… destroying the oceans and running up the price of food…

I guess according to your thinking there is no other way than fossil fuel. That’s pretty narrow don’t you think?
Solar power, wind power, biofuels (which can be made from algae), geothermal, ethanol (which can be made from prarie grass much more cost-effectively than corn), etc.
Now frankly I’m in favor of including nuclear energy as a viable option, but as far as I’m concerned at this point we need to be getting off oil as quickly as we can.
By the way, even if we started drilling tomorrow, it would still take ten years for the oil from the new reserves to actually hit the markets. It wouldn’t actually help the present.

They have no F-ing idea but they will say and do anything to protect a few Carabou or Spotted Owls.
Meanwhile they want to raise taxes on gas.
the politicians want to control we the people via our movement,if they can suppress us then they control us , there is plenty of oil in this country , it’s too bad that the people in control have special interests, such as bush,who is from the oil capitol of america…………go figure……..its almost time for we the people to take our country back!!!!!!!!!!!
I think alternative fuels include all sources that are from renewable sources that will include nuclear fusion but not fission since hydrogen for fusion is nearly limitless uranium for fission is not.
