What would you do if you suddenly need to give birth? Nobody at home? Handphone no battery? House no electric?

Can’t reach house phone? Too painful? Bleeding and wetting? Can’t drive? Neighbours not in?

I’d do like that lady did who was on Oprah back in the 90′s. she didn’t know she was pregnant and wound up having a 7 lb baby in the bathroom.
Scream and Cry and crawl to the phone after its over. Then hire a maid to clean up the rest.
What could you do? Get some towels, get in a comfortable place, grit your teeth and prepare to push. It would be a horrible situation, but you do what you have to do.
I DID THIS!!!!!! it was fine. it wasnt my first birth though. I gave brith in natural, squatting position, baby came out, then the afterbirth, i had cord clamps already, everything went beautifully without other people there to boss me around. My total labor/delivery time was only 40 minutes. HAVING A BABY IS NOT A MEDICAL EMERGENCY, UNLESS YOU HAVE ESTABLISHED HEALTH PROBLEMS>

HOW THE HELL WOULD THEY KNKOW…AND WHY DO MOST WOMEN BELIEVE THEM????
Women are equipped to handle natural, birth process.
People are just uneducated and believe what they are told.
But, how did civilization make it this far, if we never had hospitals until 20th century???????
Obviously, people today are in error and scared, and choose to listen to doctors only and thats why some of these comments ive read regarding your question are so SILLY and RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!
GREETINGS< first I wouldn’t let myself be in that position to start with, I’d have that phone charged in my pocket all the time, even if I had to buy one of those wind up magnetic charger things to plug the phone into. why wouldn’t the house have power? If I was that close I’d have someone stay with me too, you need electric to wash diapers properly because from the sounds of it, living there you’d not have money to buy disposables.
If there was truly nobody else around, I would take some ibuprofen for pain, lay on the bed in a sitting/reclining position and push the hell out of my ab muscles, deliver the baby, once he/she was out, cut and tie the cord, dispose of the afterbirth, rest abit, clean up the baby and myself and wait for someone to come home. Hope to God nothing was wrong with the baby tho, that’s not a good place to be in and if you are speaking of you in that position or you are pregnant and that’s how things are an dyour worry about delivering, get your butt out of there to civilization!!!!
Get in a comfortable ‘right-feeling’ position, laying down with knees high, squatting, whatever.
Deliver the baby to a soft landing area. Examine the baby, clean out the mouth if needed and make sure it is breathing. Once breathing, hold it close to keep it warm and deliver the placenta.
A few inches from the baby, tie off the cord in two places a few inches apart. Tie it tightly, and cut between the ties.
If you continue to bleed (there is not much blood in a normal delivery- lots of fluids, but not much blood), pack the vaginal cavity with gauze. Treat other complications with common sense as well- bleeding umbilical cord on baby’s side? Tie another tie around the cord.
Once the medical emergencies are cared for, clean the baby and Keep it from getting chilled, but do not overheat it. Let it suckle if it wants to.
ASAP try to get some help, at least your doctor on the phone. There is a lot of follow-up stuff that should happen and the sooner the better!
Breath through the pain, give birth to the baby. Immediately start nursing to help birth the placenta and to help prevent any hemorrhaging. Give birth to the placenta. Wait for the cord to stop pulsating before cutting the cord. Continue to nurse. Unless it looked like the baby was not ok I would probably rest a bit and continue to nurse the baby until I felt up to getting up to the phone to call someone.
I live across the street from the police station so I would stand outside and yell help.

You would probably do what women did throughout history before the luxuries of life came along. You would have the baby.

Well I guess I’d be having a baby by myself.
I think I’d go stand out by the side of the road and wave a car down or something. Otherwise you settle down on the bed and prepare to deliver the thing on your own….I wouldn’t know what to do with the umbilical cord though….I guess once you got her out you can go in search for someone.
I’d have the baby. Our ancestors did it just fine. Many woman choose to do this on a daily basis even now. I guess I don’t see why homebirthing is such a strange concept.
