Tyvek and Typar are 2 of the better known better quality wraps. Either one would work.
Tyvek is the original and the best. I do not believe it is worth the expense to take off siding to install house wrap. Tyvek is supposed to cut down on air infiltration. It does not add any insulating value.
In the winter, when it is cold and the wind is blowing, use a lit candle. Pass it around windows, doors, electrical outlets or any other openings in walls, floors or ceilings.
If the flame flickers or gets blown sideways, you have air infiltration in that area. Just plug the leak.
