What do you set your thermostat on in the winter?

I live in the southeast and my husband insists that setting the thermostat on 66 degrees is not too cold. I’m freezing! I understand that using the heat is expensive, but c’mon! What’s you’re thermostat set to?

I am in DC,70 degrees when is windy and breezy,it feels nice in the house.
67-68 when is not windy,because if u leave it in 70 we can get roasted in a minute
Anyhow,it is a common "problem" in many homes,it is hard to set the thermostat on the perfect temperature some people get colder than others.
68. Wear long sleeves or a light sweater. Use small ceramic heaters near you in whatever room you are in. They are very efficient to run. Tell him if you are cold all day you will be very cold at night!
I live in the South and we have our thermostat on 70 or so during the winter. The suggestion I’ve heard for energy-efficiency is heating to 70 in the winter and cooling to 76 in the summer. These are the guidelines we use and I’m usually comfortable.
I have a heat pump in oregon. I leave it set at 70 f. I have a wood stove and when we are up we keep a small fire but let it die if we leave and when we sleep. So it never gets below 70. our heating part of the bill is less than fifty dollars a month. I tried 68, but it wasn’t worth the discomfort. A space heate ruses three times as much electricity as a heat pump for the same heat and costs three times as much as gas. You are throwing money away and being miserable too. I suppose your husband is gone all day and wears a suit which is the same as a coat.
