So I would assume when you apply again you may find your application is denied, if you can not prove that you have permanent residence in the US. As there are restrictions on having a green card. (use the link for more info on what to do) If you are a permanent resident, who needs to replace your card, or conditional resident who needs to replace your two-year card, for any of the reasons listed above, you may apply for a replacement card by filing a USCIS Form I-90. Also in reference to the UK the status of a PR in England is not a called a green card holder, but you would know that wouldn't you if you were on ILR.
