What are some good and easy electric guitar songs for a beginner?

I am learning electric guitar and i am not really sure what songs to play. All the songs i would like to play are not the simplest, and i am only just learning. If you could pretty please make me a list of easy songs for a beginner to learn, that would be amazing. No real specific genre, but if there is any country song with electric chords that are easy to learn, that would be awesome.

I was asked this question just the other day and recommended Wild Thing by the Troggs http://bit.ly/9GDA5o, which is really easy and was the first song I ever learned to play. E…D….A…D…E…D etc – you get the idea. The link is to YouTube so you can hear it for yourself.
BUT – If you’re into Country…
I’d also recommend that you learn how to play 12 bar blues, It is super easy to learn and provides a good foundation for jamming with other musicians and learning many, many cool songs that are based around this simple structure. Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Hank Williams all knew how to play 12 bar blues and incorporated it into their music.
Some examples of songs by musicians in other genres who used 12 bar blues are Johnny B Goode (Chuck Berry), I Ain’t Superstitious (Howlin Wolf, Jeff Beck, Rod Stewart, Megadeth), most Status Quo songs (if you like that sort of thing). I could go on (and on)… But really, learn 12 bar blues! It will be time well spent.
