Any alternative energy sources can be used to generate power. Wind, solar thermal, solar photovoltaics, geothermal, hydro and biomass. These are also renewable energy sources that don’t deplete our natural resources or contribute to polluting the planet. There are also economic and national security benefits from using renewable energy because it would reduce our dependence on foreign oil.

ANY alternative energy source can generate power, that’s the what being an ENERGY source means, that it can generate power. It’s like asking "what kind of food can be eaten".
I guess you’re making the problem more complicated than it really is? I don’t know.

In order to know where to find solar energy you must first know what solar energy is.
Solar energy is energy from the sun.
When the sun is shining solar energy is being produced as it sends the heat radiating to the earth. You can find solar energy anywhere or anything that the sun can shine on.There is a way that you can save the sunlight in order to provide heat during the cold, which is what millions of people have done throughout the years.
It started thousands of years ago when people where able to use a thick lens or magnifying glass on an object that would attract the sun rays on that particular object and could get so hot it would catch fire.
This gave a new prospective on how strong the heat from the sun really was.
I’ll give you a really cool answer. I know some families that actually generated electricity by using street traffic. Apparently they installed some device under the road next to their house and any vehicles passing by causes a motion that can be transformed into energy.
-Wind turbines.
-Solar panels.
-Hydro power.
I remove small trees from the forest to reduce fire danger and improve health. Then they are chipped and sold to a co-gen plant that converts them to electricity. Its called biomass and is considered green energy.
Compost waste hay to produce methane and use that to run a generator to produce electricity. Univ. of Mo. did that in the early 1980′s.
alternative energy sources, by definition generate power…. that’s what all energy sources do.
I’m afraid I don’t understand your question. Are you asking how they generate power?
Burn environmentalist for fuel. It’s a renewable resource that no body care about. So it solves two problems at once.
