Most wind generators have no storage. Batteries, water pumped uphill, etc are under study, but today the buffer in the system is generally other energy systems that can be throttled such as hydro or gas-fired turbines.
There is a bunch of electronics to convert the output of the turbine generator to synchronize the amplitude, frequency and phase with that of the 60 Hz power line.
