Can I replace 220v mechanical thermostat with 110 v digital one?
I want to replace my mech. thermostat to a digital one. I live in Bangkok and the current is 220. Can i use a digital thermostat made in USA for using with 110v? Im looking at Honeywell RTH 221B. Please Help.

No. Your mechanical thermostat, if it actually deals with 220 volts, switches current to heating coils, and you have these alternatives:
- Replace it with a similar device.
- Install a relay to control the 220 volts, and a 24 volt transformer and electronic theromstat to control it.
A local dealer in heating supplies should be able to give details.
no anything made in the us is on a 60 hertz not really compatible plus 110 requires a neutral and everything over there is only 220v no neutral
NO. Electronics are very voltage sensitive. It will not work. I’m sure that honeywell will make one that is 220V.
