I have a White-Rodgers programmable thermostat. The last few days, I’ve noticed the battery alert on–not blinking–but only when I’ve had the heat turned down very low. When I turn the heat up, it goes away. Any idea why this is happening? I didn’t really get very good information from the company Web site. Thanks.
The Web site indicates that changing the batteries will not help.

Last month I got my USA green card. But this week, my passport was revoked by my home country. Is it legal to stay in the USA with a green card, but with a revoked home country passport?

I’m planning to construct a solar powered ventilator. I have several questions.
If I use just one 12v dc solar panel (PV Module), how many fans( CPU Fan) can I operate?
Do i need a battery and a charge controller?
What about DC input?
How do I set up the system with the basic equipment to operate this solar powered ventilator project of mine?

I posted previously about what to do with a hornet’s nest. Now I’m interested in identifying the type and how they build their nests. It is one very large Black Hornet – no yellow markings. It builds it’s nest in stages. I’ve noticed that inside the current hole there is something "green" inside. Is this a pupa ? The Hornet then seems to cover that section closed, and continues building up in stages. I’d love to find out more about this black hornet and their life stages, nests, pupae etc ? If the green thing i saw is a pupa, then how does it get out if it’s been sealed in? I know I must get rid of this nest soon, but in the meantime I’m taking photos of the building stages. It’s quite amazing what they do and it seems such a shame to obliterate all the hard work that this Hornet has done. If it’s the male building the nest, and if the green things are pupae, how does the pupae get laid ?? I’m in South Africa if this helps to identify the species. Thanks all.
