My husband and I have put an offer on a home that says it has both electric and propane. We looked at the house and the water heater and furnace are not propane. The only thing we could find that would be propane was a regulator coming from under the house to the back yard. What in this home could be propane? Any anwsers would help!

i was wondering about how much stuff like solar panels, and the wind power generators cost, and if someone could give me close prices and some more types of GREEN things
the reason i was wondering is because i’m looking to get my town greener and need info to present to the city council so i have some info on how much it costs and all that

. . . and that coal and nuclear are the cheapest?
In the current issue of Nature, page 872 shows a comparison of costs of producing electricity.
The cheapest is coal without carbon capture storage ("CCS"). Then nuclear. Followed by coal "with mature CCS", then municipal solid waste, then wind onshore, biomass, wind offshore and finally, at the extreme end of cost is solar photovoltaic.
So – if you don’t like coal, then it seems that nuclear is the way to go. Or do you disagree with the findings presented by Nature?

EDIT @ gcnp58
No, I don’t want to ask that. You go off into your tie-dyed world of living by candlelight if you like, and good luck to you. But please don’t try and force the rest of the world to conform to your vision for it. There’s a word for that.

I have a Payne PF1MNC048 electric AC and heater unit that has recently stopped working. When I turn on the thermostat I hear a click and everything seems to be fine but nothing happens. I have changed out the thermostat so I’m pretty confident that is not the problem. I am going into the first day of a three day stretch where the temperatures will be well below freezing so any help would be greatly appreciated.

My old honeywell thermostat wouldn’t work when switched the heat on. So I replaced it with a new Hunter thermostat and now the heat works but the air conditoner won’t or the manual fan. wired as R to R, G to G, Y to Y, red wire to rh, black wire to rc. disconected black wire for now just to be safe.

Maybe because 99% of their energy plants are from COAL,OIL and NATURAL GAS.
Do they have to use coal? No
Whether you live in the south or the southwest alternative energy is still a viable source of energy.
Solar, Wind, Geothermal and other alternative sources are available to The Southern Company.
They are BIG OIL. Thats why they dont want to change.
Americans are not stupid.
CHANGE OR YOU WILL BE FORCED TO.
THATS GOES FOR DEMOCRAT/REPUBLICAN/LIB/CON/JACKASS/WHATEVER YOUR NAME IS.

Has anyone got a solar system (grid tie in / net metering) that the home is heated with electric baseboard?
I want to reduce the amount of oil heat that is used in my home. 00 per season in oil is getting outrageous.
(I am hoping that someone steps up with a lower cost bio-diesel for heating oil in the future . . . . . .)
( I.E The greedy ones in Washington. Families are freezing to death)
I am thinking of putting a system in that "runs the meter backwards" during the summer to hopefully "break even" during the winter.
Any thoughts.
I have also thought about geo-thermal also.. or a small cylinder style windmill

I have been playing the bass for a while.
Now I want to be able to play all the big riffs of the electric guitar.
I can get a decent guitar fairly cheap I just dont want to be spending alot of money on a new amp.
I have a stagg bass amp and was wondering what would happen if I played my electric guitar on that amp.

A couple weeks ago we got Bermuda from another person’s backyard when they were putting in a pool. Unfortunately, I didn’t know that it was Bermuda and that was a summer grass. I don’t know how long it was planted in their yard for, but it doesn’t seem to be taking root in our yard. I wanted to spread a winter seed on top but found our that we are between seasons. We have spread Scott’s turf builder and Ammonium Sulfate on the lawn but it doesn’t seem to help it take root or get any greener. Any suggestions?

in wind energy converstion, if wind turbine is connected to the squirrel cage induction generator converting mechanical enery to electrical energy when winis sufficient if it is not sufficient at that time how we can generate electrical enery continuously
