A Wind blows across a hill, has done since time inmomorial, that wind is part of the global weather system, so someone comes along and builds a wind farm on the hill, most of the energy is removed from the wind, what effect does that have on the global weather system?
Wave power, many years ago it was demonstrated that wave farms caused or increased costal erosion at a point some distance from the "farm".
Geothermal, taking heat from the earths crust, what will be the long term effect of this accelerated cooling?
Solar, the production cost of photovoltaic cells has been questioned elswhere but what about heat extraction. placing large solar powered boilers in the desert may seem like a good idea but what are the effects on the flora, fauna and geology of removing that heat source?
maybe the sun will go out before the effects are apreciable but has anyone ever done any reasearch in to the down side of "green" energy?

what is the 3rd way to generate electricity?

i know 2 of the 3 methods. One is static electricity, such as lightning from a t-storm. another is chemical reaction from mixing chemicals such as in a battery. What is the 3rd method. Saying it is solar, wind, biomass, chemical, hydroelectric, or fossil fuels aren’t acceptable

I’m looking for an insulation material that I can put into the walls of a cooler I made. Walls are welded shut on all sides. I intend to drill some holes and fill it with insulation. I’m looking for cost efficiency here, too.
What would you recommend and why?
My walls are only an inch thick, total length ~22", 8" tall, time 2 (for the other side). not too much space for a blower.

I’ve been playin electric bass for about four years now. I know the in and outs of a bass and lookin to broaden my knowledge and experience. I’ve been recently wanting to get an acoustic bass, but I wasn’t quite sure if the techniques were the same from an electric to an acoustic bass. Is the techniques greatly different, and if so, what are the differences to play the acoustic?

I’m sick of having brown patches, and overall, a discolored lawn. Before I buy any fertilizer or turf-builder, I thought I’d ask here. Thanks

What is the lifespan of a portable solar charger?

I am looking into buying a portable solar charger for my laptop, but can’t find any information on how long these products are supposed to last. I know thin film panels usually only have warranties for 5-10 years in normal solar panels (versus longer lifespans with the crystalline panels). I don’t know how to translate that information into making a purchase, though.

Does anyone know of a clearinghouse of information on portable solar chargers?

Any information you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
